It has
long been recognized that an audio visual aid is the most
effective learning tool a teacher and student can use. It
awakens all of their senses during the learning process. We at
the Sussex-Warren Audio Visual Aids Media Library have provided
educational media to the schools in our two counties for over 50
years.
In September 2005, we
joined forces with the statewide initiative, EVAN (Educational
Video Access Network). This relationship enables our media
library to bring to it’s member schools an extensive collection
of digital, online media, that includes: curriculum based
videos, and core-concept video clips, curriculum oriented audio
files, music clips, and sound effects, educational photos, clip
art images, illustrations, and photo objects, print resources,
including teacher’s guides, and worksheets, quiz questions, and
pre-made quizzes.
EVAN
is designed to be used as a comprehensive learning tool for our
county educators and students alike, and they can access it from
their homes and their classrooms all day – every day!
We are a
dedicated, user-friendly, state commissioned library that
receives its revenue only from member schools. We are committed
to improving the level of education in Sussex and Warren
Counties. Currently the library consists of more than 6000
educational video titles, DVDs, CD ROMs, Scientific Models
(skeletons, heart, ear, eye charts, bugs, crustaceans, frog
dissections, etc.), plus informative website links. The entire
library targets K through 12 grade levels. |
